The 75th Anniversary Task Force of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) announces a special ASIS&T 75th Anniversary event on the history of ASIS&T and the history of information science and technology worldwide. This special event will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012, which is immediately prior to the ASIS&T 2012 Annual Meeting, in Baltimore, Maryland. Registration and additional fees are required to attend (see below).
This special 75th Anniversary event will explore the 75 year history of ASIS&T and the longer history of information science and technology worldwide.
Themes to be covered:
- The History of ASIS&T
- Evolution of the field of Information Science
- Historical Contexts of Technology Innovations and Impacts
- Development of Foundational Ideas and Theories in Information Science
A total of 18 papers have been accepted for presentation, the results of a comprehensive reviewing
process, including authors from more than 10 countries.
The complete papers will be available to all registrants and for sale afterwards as an e-book published by Information Today, Inc.
